Why join waba?

A WABA membership will provide a voice and influence to West Atlanta business owners and their respective business interests. WABA’s work will serve to enhance West Atlanta with smart growth and progress by promoting infrastructure, art, and economic development projects that will create value for business owners in West Atlanta.

Vision Statement

The West Atlanta Business Alliance (WABA) will promote economic development through an engaged, involved and progressive alliance of local for-profit businesses. WABA envisions a connected, independent, supportive, and collaborative local economy with shared opportunities and broadened ownership, while maintaining the character of West Atlanta.

WABA provides excellent opportunities to connect face-to-face with business owners that are highly engaged in the community, so here’s a list of direct benefits members of WABA receive:

• Providing ambassador services to Invest Atlanta (i.e., façade improvements, help accessing loans, administrative guidance)

• Keeping track of small business policies before city council.

• Providing up-to-date information to members on business and regulatory activity in West Atlanta.

MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA 

All WABA Members must meet the following criteria:

  • Ownership of a local for-profit business within the WABA boundary OR for-profit business investments within the WABA boundary 

  • Good moral character and conduct 

  • A business reputation that will not undermine the goals and objectives of WABA

Small Business Membership 

• Small businesses in WABA shall be defined as businesses with less than $100mm in annual revenue or $10mm in investments within the WABA boundary.

• The annual membership fee for Small Business WABA members is $1,000. 

• The small business membership provides one vote and up to two seats at the table for each WABA meeting. 

• Initiation fee of $500.

Corporate Membership 

• Corporate members in WABA shall be defined as businesses with more than $100mm in annual revenue. Corporate members are not subject to operating or owning within the WABA boundary. 

• The Corporate membership provides one vote and up to three seats at the table for each WABA meeting. 

• The annual membership fee for Corporate Members is $5,000. 

• Initiation fee is $1,500.
